Clinical Application
This Hank uterine dilator is intended for controlled cervical and intrauterine dilation during gynecologic procedures. Typical uses include mechanical cervical dilation prior to dilation and curettage (D&C), hysteroscopy, operative hysteroscopy setup, and facilitation of intrauterine device (IUD) placement. The graduated diameters provide predictable, low‑trauma tissue expansion when used with standard cervical preparation techniques.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features a straight, double‑ended Hank configuration with tapered, rounded tips. This geometry allows stepwise dilation with a smooth transition between the cervical os and uterine cavity, reducing focal stress on cervical tissue. The double‑ended design offers two adjacent size increments in one instrument for efficient intraoperative escalation without exchanging instruments.
