Clinical Application
Designed for controlled cervical dilation to establish or maintain transcervical access during gynecologic procedures. This Hank dilator is intended for use in diagnostic and operative settings including uterine curettage, office-based and ambulatory hysteroscopy prep, intrauterine device placement, and endometrial sampling. The atraumatic tapered tip facilitates gradual dilation while minimizing cervical trauma and patient discomfort when used with appropriate technique and analgesia.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features a smooth, tapered shaft that provides predictable radial expansion as it is advanced through the cervical canal. The rounded, atraumatic tip reduces the risk of mucosal injury during insertion. A solid stainless-steel construction provides tactile feedback for the operator, allowing precise control of dilation depth and resistance. The Hank pattern is a standard, widely recognized geometry favored for gradual, manual dilation where finesse and tissue preservation are priorities.
