Clinical Application
This round Gruber ear speculum provides atraumatic access and direct visualization of the external auditory canal. The 5.5 mm aperture is used to expose the canal for diagnostic otoscopy, removal of cerumen or small foreign bodies, and to facilitate microsuction or instrument passage during minor office‑based ENT procedures. The speculum’s geometry supports stable visualization with common headlight or microscope setups.
Design & Configuration
The classic Gruber funnel shape and rounded circular rim minimize contact trauma to the canal while centering the visual axis. The 5.5 mm internal diameter balances patient comfort with sufficient lumen for suction tips, graspers, and small instrument introduction. The straight, open configuration allows direct line-of-sight inspection and unobstructed instrument manipulation under magnification.
