Clinical Application
Designed for use in otolaryngology and clinic settings to remove cerumen, desiccated debris, fungal clumps, and small superficial foreign bodies from the external auditory canal. The spoon end allows controlled scooping and shaving of impacted material under direct visualization (otoscope or microscope), while the spud end provides a blunt levering surface to dislodge adherent plugs or to separate debris from the canal wall prior to extraction.
Design & Configuration
The concave spoon bowl concentrates contact area for predictable, atraumatic scooping; this helps minimize contact with the canal skin and reduce the risk of pushing material deeper. The opposite spud is a flat, blunt elevator that permits gentle levering or scraping of impacted material. The overall 12 cm length provides reach for adult ear canals while allowing the clinician to maintain fine control close to the hilt. A double‑ended layout reduces instrument exchanges during short procedures.
Instrument Specifications
