Clinical Application
A compact self-retaining retractor designed to provide stable exposure of wound edges and superficial soft tissues in confined operative fields. The 13 cm length is suited to small incisions and shallow cavities commonly encountered in outpatient procedures, minor orthopedic and hand surgery, plastic and reconstructive cases, ENT work, and selected neurosurgical or spinal approaches where focal retraction is required. The self-retaining Loktite mechanism frees circulating personnel from maintaining tension, allowing the assistant to focus on other tasks.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features two opposing arms terminating in single-pointed prongs that separate to deliver precise, focal retraction. The Loktite locking mechanism secures the arms at the chosen spread, permitting consistent tension without manual holding. The low-profile arms minimize obstruction of the field and improve access for irrigation, visualization, and instrument handling. Because the tips are pointed, they provide secure purchase in tougher tissues and fascia; caution is advised when using on delicate or friable structures to avoid tissue injury.
