Clinical Application
Designed to provide controlled evacuation of blood, pooled fluids, and small particulate debris from the operative field where a directed, angled suction is advantageous. The 90-degree configuration facilitates access to confined or angled anatomy—such as the oral cavity, pharynx, nasal cavity, parotid region, and deep pockets encountered in head & neck, ENT, oral/maxillofacial and some general surgery procedures—while keeping the operator’s line of sight and instruments unobstructed.
Design & Configuration
The 90-degree bend places the suction port parallel to or just beyond the instrument axis, allowing the tip to reach around structures and into recesses without excessively manipulating surrounding tissue. Fenestrated lateral port(s) at the tip reduce the tendency for soft-tissue to completely occlude the lumen, improving continuous aspiration performance. The straight proximal shaft provides secure attachment to OR suction tubing and allows the surgeon or assistant to control orientation precisely during use.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Surgical suction tube
- Pattern / model: Fergusson Suction Tube 90
- Configuration: 90-degree angled tip
- Tip pattern: Fenestrated lateral suction port(s)
- Typical use: Directed suction in head & neck, ENT, oral/maxillofacial, and confined-field procedures
- Material / construction: Surgical-grade stainless steel, reusable
Material & Construction
Constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel for durability and resistance to corrosion. The smooth bore and polished finish facilitate effective suction flow and simplify cleaning during reprocessing. The instrument is intended for repeated surgical use and can be reprocessed according to standard sterilization protocols for stainless steel surgical instruments.
Quality & Compliance
