Endarterectomy striper

Clinical Application

Designed for use in open vascular endarterectomy procedures, this instrument is used to develop the plane between atherosclerotic plaque and the arterial media and to assist in controlled removal of the intimal plaque complex. It is suitable for carotid, femoral and peripheral arterial endarterectomy where precise, atraumatic elevation and stripping of plaque over a segment of artery is required. The tool supports a shelf dissection technique to minimize tearing of the arterial wall and to reduce residual intimal flaps.

Design & Configuration

The spatulated, blunt tip and tapered neck geometry distribute traction forces across a broader surface, reducing point pressure on the arterial intima during plaque mobilization. A flat or slightly contoured blade allows the surgeon to slide the instrument along the arterial lumen to separate plaque along its longitudinal plane while maintaining tactile feedback. Ergonomic hand control and a slim profile enable controlled advancement into narrow operative fields and allow coordinated use with vascular clamps and fine dissectors.
