Clinical Application
Designed for controlled exploration and manipulation of fistulous and tunneled tracts, this hook is used to probe channels, identify internal openings, guide placement of setons or drains, and retrieve sutures or small foreign bodies. Its length and working-end geometry make it useful in colorectal and general surgical procedures, wound care and other cases where a slender, reliable probing instrument is required.
Design & Configuration
The 22 cm shaft provides reach into deeper or more tortuous tracts while allowing the operator to maintain control outside the wound. The Fig.2 working-end geometry denotes a defined hooked profile that facilitates engagement of tissue, sutures or drains and directional control during passage. A smooth, slender shaft minimizes additional tissue disruption while transmitting tactile feedback to the operator for safer, more precise probing.
