Clinical Application

This bivalve speculum is intended to provide atraumatic vaginal wall retraction for visualization and access to the cervix during outpatient gynecologic procedures. Typical uses include routine pelvic exams, Pap smear and cervical cytology collection, colposcopy, intrauterine device insertion and removal, and other minor diagnostic or office-based gynecologic procedures where direct visualization of the cervix is required.

Design & Configuration

The two-blade (bivalve) design provides lateral retraction of the vaginal walls to create an unobstructed field for inspection and instrumentation. The 100 mm blade length with 35 mm blade width offers extended reach and lateral opening suitable for adult examinations, improving visualization of the cervix in deeper vaginal canals. An adjustable, self-retaining mechanism allows the speculum to remain in the desired open position, freeing the clinician’s hands for sampling, colposcopic evaluation, or device placement.
