Clinical Application
Provides atraumatic exposure of the vaginal canal and cervix for diagnostic and minor operative gynecologic procedures. Common uses include routine pelvic exams, colposcopy, cervical sampling (Pap smear), IUD insertion/removal, and cervical biopsy where a medium-sized blade offers balanced exposure without excessive lateral pressure.
Design & Configuration
The bivalved, hinged design with concave blades conforms to the curvature of the vaginal vault to retract lateral walls and centralize the cervix in the field of view. The medium 115 mm blade length with a 35 mm opening width is intended to provide sufficient visualization in average adult patients while limiting soft-tissue distention. Concave blade geometry helps maintain a clear working channel for instruments and specimen collection.
