Clinical Application
Provides atraumatic exposure and lateral retraction of the vaginal walls to permit direct visualization of the cervix and vaginal vault. Commonly used in outpatient gynecology and minor procedures including diagnostic pelvic exam, cervical cytology and colposcopy preparation, IUD insertion/removal, and minor office-based surgical interventions where stable visualization and instrument access are required.
Design & Configuration
The bivalve, hinged geometry produces a controlled aperture for direct line-of-sight to the cervix and posterior fornix. The 85x60 mm blade dimensions deliver a relatively wide working window for instrument passage and manipulation, improving access for procedures that require larger exposure. Smooth, rounded blade edges reduce mucosal trauma during insertion and manipulation; the hinge provides reliable mechanical separation of the blades under manual control for consistent retraction.
