Clinical Application
Designed for controlled luminal dilation, this curved dilating bougie is used to dilate and calibrate strictures in the pharynx and esophagus. It is intended for use in operating rooms and endoscopy suites during bougienage procedures where gradual, tactile dilation is required. The 19 Fr. caliber corresponds to a defined lumen size for stepwise dilation protocols and procedural planning.
Design & Configuration
The curved geometry follows the natural axial alignment of the oropharynx and proximal esophagus to facilitate atraumatic passage and reduce levering against mucosa. A tapered, atraumatic tip permits smooth entry into narrowed segments and improves tactile feedback for the operator during incremental dilation. The 34.5 cm overall length provides sufficient reach for proximal and mid-esophageal applications while maintaining control at the proximal end.
Instrument Specifications
