Clinical Application
This instrument is engineered to pass ligatures or suture around vessels, pedicles, ducts or other tubular structures where direct visualization or access is limited. The blunt tip minimizes the risk of inadvertent perforation while facilitating atraumatic passage around delicate structures. Typical uses include ligation and encirclement maneuvers in general, vascular, gynecologic, thoracic and head & neck procedures where controlled, blunt dissection and suture placement are required in confined spaces.
Design & Configuration
The left-curved geometry directs the needle around structures following tissue planes and provides improved approach angles when working from the opposite side of the field. The 21 cm overall length gives additional reach into deeper cavities without requiring instrument exchanges. A blunt tip is selected specifically to reduce tissue penetration while allowing the instrument to be steered around vessels or ducts for placement of ligatures.
Instrument Specifications
- Pattern: Deschamps ligature needle (left-curved)
- Length: 21 cm
- Tip: Blunt
