Clinical Application
Designed for outpatient dermatologic and aesthetic procedures, this double-ended comedo extractor is used to remove superficial follicular contents such as open and closed comedones (blackheads and whiteheads), milia, and pustular material. The dual loop configuration allows selection of an appropriately sized loop to match lesion diameter, enabling controlled, focal pressure to express keratinous or purulent contents while minimizing surrounding tissue trauma. Not appropriate for deep cysts, nodular acne, or lesions requiring surgical incision and drainage under local anesthesia.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended layout provides two loop diameters on a single 10 cm instrument, allowing quick intra-procedural switching between loop sizes without changing instruments. The compact 10 cm length balances reach with tactile control for fine digital manipulation. Loop tips concentrate applied pressure over a defined aperture to express contents with reduced need for excessive force, helping to limit epidermal disruption and post-procedure inflammation when used with appropriate technique (e.g., skin preparation, warming or gentle pre-lancing when necessary).
