Clinical Application

The 1.0 mm tip diameter targets very small peripheral or microvascular lumens encountered in peripheral vascular surgery, microsurgical vessel preparation, dialysis access work, and select cardiothoracic or endovascular access steps. Surgeons use this style of dilator when a controlled, blunt dilatation is required to reduce risk of intimal injury during cannulation or surgical anastomosis preparation.
