Clinical Application
Designed for controlled partial occlusion of large-caliber veins, this clamp is used to isolate segments of the inferior vena cava (IVC) and other major venous structures during vascular repair, tumor thrombectomy, caval reconstruction, liver transplant, and complex trauma or cardiothoracic cases. The combination of DeBakey-style atraumatic jaws with the Satinsky partial-occlusion pattern enables secure vessel control while minimizing intimal trauma and preserving distal collateral flow when complete clamping is not required.
Design & Configuration
The Satinsky design provides broad jaw surfaces that distribute contact pressure across the vessel, allowing partial or tangential occlusion rather than circumferential crushing. The DeBakey-style atraumatic serrated jaw profile offers a gentle but reliable grip on vascular tissue, reducing risk of endothelial injury during clamping and release. At 24 cm overall length, the instrument gives extended reach into deep abdominal and thoracic cavities, improving access and visualization in confined operative fields.
