Clinical Application
Provides controlled, atraumatic occlusion of blood vessels for temporary hemostasis and vessel control during procedures such as vascular repair, anastomosis, bypass, cardiothoracic operations, and deep abdominal or retroperitoneal exposures. The atraumatic jaw profile is intended to minimize endothelial injury when isolating or manipulating vessels prior to definitive repair or suturing.
Design & Configuration
The 23 cm overall length gives extended reach into deep operative fields while preserving tactile control at the handle. Long, slender shanks reduce obstruction of the surgical field and improve visualization around the clamp during suturing. The DeBakey atraumatic jaw geometry features longitudinal contact surfaces that distribute clamping force evenly along the vessel wall — this reduces focal compression and lowers the risk of intimal damage compared with toothed patterns. A ratchet lock on the handles maintains secure occlusion at a chosen pressure level and allows single-operator control.
