Clinical Application

Designed for deep-cavity retraction, this instrument provides broad, atraumatic exposure of viscera and soft tissue during abdominal, pelvic, and thoracic procedures. It is frequently used in general surgery (including colorectal and hepatobiliary cases), gynecologic and urologic operations where controlled elevation and lateral displacement of organs or wound edges is required. The geometry supports single-handed retraction by an assistant or the primary surgeon to maintain an unobstructed operative field.

Design & Configuration

The broad, gently curved blade follows the contour of deep cavities to distribute contact pressure over a larger surface area, reducing focal tissue compression and minimizing crush injury. A 300 mm blade length permits access into deep operative sites while the 50 mm blade width provides a wide surface for dependable tissue displacement. The single-ended, handheld configuration gives the operator direct tactile feedback and fine control of retraction angle and depth.
