Clinical Application
Designed for otologic and general ENT procedures, this hook provides fine retraction and manipulation of soft tissue in the external auditory canal, concha, and peri-auricular areas. It is used to retract canal skin, hold packing or graft material, assist with removal of cerumen or small foreign bodies, and aid exposure during microscopic tympanoplasty, myringotomy, and other middle-ear interventions.
Design & Configuration
The slender, single-ended hook and Fig. 1 curvature deliver precise, controlled engagement of delicate tissues while minimizing bulk in the operative field. The 16 cm overall length provides extended reach for deeper canal access and for work under the operating microscope, allowing the assistant or surgeon to maintain a clear line of sight without encroaching on instruments in the primary working area. The narrow shank offers tactile feedback for delicate maneuvers.
