Clinical Application

Curved Crile–Rankin hemostatic forceps are intended for atraumatic clamping and occlusion of small to medium-sized blood vessels and for temporary control of bleeding during dissection. The curved profile permits work in deeper or confined pockets while preserving a clear line of sight for suture ligation, vessel ligation, or application of clips. Common uses include general surgery, vascular procedures, OB/GYN, ENT, and soft-tissue cases where reliable tissue compression and secure locking are required.

Design & Configuration

The curved jaw geometry improves access to deep or angled operative fields and allows the tips to be positioned lateral to tissue planes for controlled occlusion without excessive tissue bulk between the surgeon's hand and the target. Transverse serrations along the jaws provide consistent grip on vessels and soft tissue, while a ratchet locking handle offers incremental clamping force and secure maintenance of haemostasis during ligation or when handing off instruments. Finger rings and an ergonomically balanced shank support tactile control during delicate maneuvers.
