Clinical Application

Designed to assist the surgeon in controlled identification, isolation and retraction of nerves and small-to-medium vessels during open procedures. The hook is used to gently mobilize a vessel or nerve so a ligature, vessel loop or clip can be placed, and is commonly used in general, vascular, peripheral nerve and soft-tissue procedures where tactile feedback and atraumatic handling are required.

Design & Configuration

The hexagonal (hex.) handle provides positive manual purchase and reduced rotation in the hand, improving control during fine dissection. The slim shaft and single atraumatic hook tip allow the instrument to slip beneath a vessel or nerve with minimal tissue disturbance, enabling safe elevation and retraction without compressive crushing. The handle geometry also supports one-handed manipulation when passing ligatures or positioning vessel loops.

Instrument Specifications
