Clinical Application

The Cottle pattern features opposing blades that expand the nares when opened. A side-mounted screw mechanism allows the operator to incrementally set and lock the desired blade separation, maintaining consistent exposure without continuous manual pressure. A 50 mm jaw span gives broad, evenly distributed retraction, while the 14 cm overall length provides adequate reach and control for typical anterior intranasal work.
