Clinical Application
A precision Cottle chisel designed for controlled bone scoring, splitting and osteotomy of the nasal bones and adjacent facial bony structures. It is commonly used in rhinoplasty, septoplasty and select otolaryngology procedures where focused manual bone removal or controlled bone fracturing is required. The 6 mm blade provides a narrow cutting edge for fine osteotomies and targeted reshaping while preserving surrounding soft tissue when used with appropriate technique.
Design & Configuration
The cross-handle provides a secure two-handed grip for improved control and tactile feedback during delicate bone work. The angled shank improves access to lateral and inferior nasal walls in both open and closed approaches, allowing the surgeon to maintain an ergonomic wrist position while visualizing the operative field. The flat, 6 mm chisel blade concentrates force for precise scoring and controlled propagation of osteotomies.
