Clinical Application
This instrument is the Cloward-style anterior cervical retractor frame provided without blades. When assembled with appropriate blades, the retractor is used to maintain soft-tissue and airway retraction during anterior cervical spine procedures such as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF), cervical corpectomy, and other anterior neck approaches. The frame establishes and maintains exposure of the disc space and vertebral bodies while allowing the surgeon unobstructed access for discectomy, decompression, graft placement, and instrumentation placement.
Design & Configuration
The rigid frame is designed to accept interchangeable blades of varying depth and curvature, providing a stable retraction platform when blades and locking elements are attached. A low-profile frame preserves line-of-sight and fluoroscopic access to the operative site while resisting torsion and sag during retraction. Selling the frame without blades lets surgical teams configure blade length, angle, and tooth pattern to match patient anatomy and the specific operative exposure required.
Instrument Specifications
