Clinical Application
Designed for atraumatic capture and controlled traction of veins and small vessels in open procedures. Common applications include isolation and mobilization of superficial veins during vascular and phlebologic operations, assistance with saphenous vein harvesting and preparation, fine retraction during microvascular dissection, and passage of ligatures in confined tissue planes. The narrow profile and hook tip enable precise engagement of delicate venous structures while minimizing surrounding tissue disturbance.
Design & Configuration
The instrument's single-ended, slender shaft provides tactile feedback and reach within shallow to moderate operative fields. The Fig.1 hook geometry creates a small, defined capture point that secures a vessel without compressive crushing, allowing controlled traction and blunt dissection. At 19 cm overall length the instrument balances reach and ergonomics for handheld manipulation at the surgical site.
