Clinical Application
Designed for direct aural canal access and visualization during diagnostic and minor procedural otology. The 5.0 mm internal diameter provides a working lumen suitable for visualization of the external auditory canal and tympanic membrane, facilitating cerumen removal, microsuction, foreign-body extraction, and the introduction of microinstruments under magnification or otoscopic illumination.
Design & Configuration
The Boucheron pattern uses a straight, conical geometry with a slightly flared proximal end to maximize the field of view while maintaining atraumatic contact with the canal. The smooth, rounded rim minimizes mucosal abrasion and patient discomfort during insertion and manipulation. The single-piece conical shape concentrates light and sightlines toward the tympanic membrane, improving visualization with operating microscopes and standard otoscopes.
