Clinical Application
This manual bone file is intended for controlled smoothing and contouring of cortical and cancellous bone surfaces following osteotomy, fracture reduction, hardware placement or graft shaping. The instrument is used to remove small irregularities and sharp edges, refine bone margins prior to fixation or closure, and produce a more even bone surface where fine manual control and tactile feedback are required. Common settings include orthopedics, trauma, hand surgery, oral and maxillofacial procedures, podiatry and select ENT and neurosurgical applications.
Design & Configuration
The 20 mm working surface provides a moderate-width filing area that balances efficient material removal with precision control. The 28 cm overall length offers extended reach into deeper surgical fields or around larger bone segments while keeping the working end accessible. The hand-held file geometry gives the surgeon direct tactile feedback and fine control over the amount of bone removed, allowing gradual contouring without the heat generation associated with power burrs.
