Clinical Application
Medial retraction blade designed to be used with a Caspar retractor system to expose the anterior cervical spine during procedures such as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) and other anterior cervical approaches. The blade provides focused midline retraction of soft tissues and longus colli musculature, helping maintain an unobstructed working corridor to the disc space while the distractor and lateral blades control vertebral separation.
Design & Configuration
The 75 x 23 mm medial geometry offers a balance of reach and contact area: the length allows access to typical cervical levels while the blade width distributes pressure across the retracted soft tissues to reduce focal tissue stress. The medial orientation fits along the midline of the surgical field and interfaces with Caspar retractor posts and distractor components to create a stable exposure without encroaching on the instrument working zone.
Instrument Specifications
- Size: 75 x 23 mm
