Clinical Application
Blunt retractor blades for the Caspar anterior cervical retractor provide atraumatic soft-tissue retraction and a stable working corridor to the anterior cervical spine. The blade's blunt leading edge and broad footprint are intended to displace soft tissues (platysma, prevertebral fascia, trachea/esophagus margin) without sharp cutting, facilitating exposure during procedures such as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF), discectomy, and anterior cervical corpectomy.
Design & Configuration
The 75x24 mm geometry balances reach and footprint: the 75 mm length gives access to cervical levels while the 24 mm width provides a secure platform to distribute retraction force and optimize visualization of the disc space. The blunt profile reduces localized tissue pressure and minimizes the risk of inadvertent perforation. Blades are configured to be detachable and to engage Caspar-style retractor heads or blade clamps, allowing quick placement, adjustment, and removal during the procedure.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Detachable retractor blade for anterior cervical use
- Pattern / model: Caspar retractor blade
- Size: 75x24 mm
- Tip pattern: Blunt
- Material: Titanium (Ti)
- Reusable construction for repeated sterilization cycles
Material & Construction
Manufactured from titanium alloy (Ti), the blade offers a high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent corrosion resistance for routine reprocessing. Titanium construction keeps the blade lightweight for easier handling and reduces wear at the engagement interfaces when used repeatedly with retractor hardware.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
