Clinical Application
Blunt retractor blades sized 60x20 mm are used as working blades within the Caspar cervical retractor system to maintain controlled soft-tissue and disc-space exposure during anterior cervical spine procedures (for example, anterior cervical discectomy and fusion and other anterior cervical approaches). The blunt edge provides atraumatic separation of soft tissues and reduces the risk of inadvertent tissue laceration while allowing consistent operative exposure for microsurgical and instrumentation steps.
Design & Configuration
The rectangular 60x20 mm footprint gives a low-profile, broad surface for tissue displacement while distributing retraction pressure over a larger area. A blunt, non-cutting edge minimizes focal tissue compression and protects neurovascular and pharyngeal structures in the operative field. The flat geometry and standardized dimensions allow predictable visualization depth and positioning when installed in a compatible Caspar retractor frame, helping maintain a stable exposure throughout the procedure.
Instrument Specifications
- Application: anterior cervical retraction with Caspar retractor systems
- Shape: rectangular blade profile
- Edge: blunt / atraumatic
- Size: 60x20 mm
- Construction: surgical-grade stainless steel
- Reusable: designed for repeated sterilization and reuse
Material & Construction
Constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel for durability and corrosion resistance. The blunt edge is formed to resist deformation under normal retraction forces. Designed for standard sterilization and reprocessing suitable for reusable surgical instruments.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
