Clinical Application
This replacement blade is designed to work with a Dingman mouth gag Fig.3 to provide stable retraction and exposure of the oral cavity and oropharynx. It is used during palatal repair, intra-oral tumor excision, maxillofacial access, dental surgery, and ENT procedures where consistent mouth opening and soft-tissue retraction are required. As a dedicated blade component, it permits rapid exchange and cleaning between cases while maintaining the gag’s surgical geometry and patient safety.
Design & Configuration
The blade-only configuration allows the clinician to replace or swap the contacting element of the gag without replacing the entire frame, facilitating instrument sterilization and minimizing downtime. The blade geometry on Fig.3-style blades is intended to interface securely with the Dingman frame and seat against teeth and alveolar ridges to distribute retraction forces and reduce focal pressure on oral structures. A precise fit to the gag frame preserves intended retraction vectors and helps maintain unobstructed visual and working access for the surgeon.
Instrument Specifications
