Clinical Application
Provides focused midline retraction for anterior cervical spine procedures. Designed to be mounted on a Caspar retractor frame to maintain consistent exposure of the disc space and vertebral bodies during procedures such as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) and limited corpectomy. The medial blade supports atraumatic separation of soft tissues and helps maintain an unobstructed working corridor for discectomy, graft placement, and instrumentation.
Design & Configuration
The medial blade profile is intended to seat centrally within the Caspar retractor, delivering a stable, aligned contact surface against midline tissues. The 45 x 24 mm footprint balances surface area and clearance—large enough to distribute retraction forces and reduce focal pressure, while slim enough to preserve operative visualization and instrument access along the anterior cervical column. The geometry facilitates secure attachment to the retractor frame and predictable displacement of soft tissues without obstructing the operative field.
Instrument Specifications
- Blade pattern: Medial retractor blade for Caspar system
- Dimensions: 45 x 24 mm
- Intended use: Anterior cervical exposure (retraction of midline soft tissues)
- Material: Titanium (TiT)
- Reusable: Yes — designed for repeated sterilization cycles
Material & Construction
Constructed from titanium (TiT) for a combination of strength and reduced weight compared with heavier alloys. Titanium offers excellent corrosion resistance and long-term dimensional stability under standard hospital sterilization processes, supporting repeated reuse while maintaining blade geometry.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
