Clinical Application
This lateral retractor blade is designed for use with a Caspar retractor system to provide controlled lateral soft-tissue retraction during anterior cervical procedures such as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) and similar anterior approaches to the cervical spine. The blade’s rectangular footprint offers broad surface contact to maintain exposure of vertebral bodies and disc spaces while minimizing focal pressure on soft tissues.
Design & Configuration
The lateral geometry and 35x24 mm footprint distribute retraction forces across a wider area, reducing localized tissue compression while preserving a low profile for improved surgeon access and visualization. The blade is configured to seat on the lateral arm of a Caspar retractor, providing stable lateral retraction in conjunction with the retractor frame and distractor components.
Instrument Specifications
