Clinical Application
Provides a low-profile 5 mm access port for minimally invasive procedures where controlled entry and a stable instrument channel are required. Commonly used to introduce 5 mm laparoscopic instruments and optics, the device establishes and helps maintain pneumoperitoneum while protecting soft tissues during instrument exchanges. Suited to general, gynecologic, urologic and other laparoscopic procedures that require an extended working length.
Design & Configuration
The long 24 cm working length offers extended reach into deep abdominal and pelvic cavities, improving instrument ergonomics and reducing the need for angled instruments in cases that require increased depth. The two-component design—a trocar (obturator) and a matching cannula—permits controlled peritoneal entry with the obturator and subsequent instrument passage through the cannula. The 5 mm diameter minimizes the fascial defect and supports standard 5 mm instrument compatibility while providing a stable, centered channel for repeated instrument exchanges.
