Clinical Application
Designed for use in adenoidectomy procedures to remove hypertrophic adenoid tissue from the nasopharynx. The curette’s 21 mm scoop is sized to capture and core tissue effectively, enabling controlled curettage during transoral approaches. It is commonly used in pediatric ENT procedures but the 22 cm overall length also provides reach suitable for older children and adolescents.
Design & Configuration
The Fig. 5 profile combines a distal spoon-shaped curette (ring/scoop) with a long shaft to permit access to the nasopharyngeal recess through the oral cavity. The scoop geometry concentrates cutting force at the rim to facilitate precise removal of tissue with minimal blind traction. A single-ended configuration offers a straightforward working profile for predictable orientation during standard surgical technique.
