Clinical Application
This curette is intended for mechanical excision and removal of adenoidal tissue during adenoidectomy procedures. The scoop-style blade allows controlled curettage of hypertrophic adenoids through a transoral approach and may be used with direct visualization or with endoscopic assistance in operating rooms and ambulatory surgical centers. The 17 mm scoop provides a balance between tissue capture and precise removal in standard nasopharyngeal cavities.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features a long 22 cm shaft to reach the posterior nasopharynx without excessive hand intrusion into the oral cavity. The Figure 3 head geometry incorporates an angled, spoon-shaped curette that conforms to the nasopharyngeal vault to facilitate en bloc or shaving curettage while helping preserve surrounding mucosa. The scoop profile and rim allow the surgeon to engage and extract adenoid tissue with controlled force and tactile feedback.
