Clinical Application
Designed for precision needle control during fine suturing, this straight needle holder is optimized for ophthalmic and other microsurgical procedures that require secure handling of small needles in a confined field. The instrument is suitable for eyelid, conjunctival and corneal/ocular surface suturing, as well as other delicate soft-tissue closures where minimal bulk and exact needle placement are essential.
Design & Configuration
The straight geometry provides direct alignment between the surgeon’s hand and the needle, improving tactile feedback and line-of-sight in narrow operative sites. A positive catch (ratchet) on the box lock permits controlled one-handed locking to maintain needle position without continuous grip tension, reducing hand fatigue during prolonged suturing. The fine, short jaw profile seats small needles securely to limit rotation and reduce inadvertent tissue trauma.
