Clinical Application
This curved Barraquer needle holder is designed for precise needle control in ophthalmic and other microsurgical procedures where delicate, fingertip manipulation is required. The fine, micro-serrated jaws permit secure grasp of small surgical needles and fine suture material for tasks such as conjunctival closure, corneal or eyelid repair, and other soft-tissue micro-suturing.
Design & Configuration
The curved profile orients the tips away from the operator’s fingers and enhances visibility in confined surgical fields. The absence of a catch (no ratchet) removes the bulk of a locking mechanism and enables quick release and continuous, tactile control—preferred when frequent repositioning of the needle is needed or when precise incremental movements are required. At 10 cm overall length, the balance favors close control while still providing sufficient reach into small operative sites.
