Clinical Application

Designed to provide a secure, mechanical hold on dense soft tissues, this Allis‑Adair tissue forceps is used to grasp and provide traction on fascia, subcutaneous tissue, and other robust tissue planes during general surgery, gynecologic procedures, and soft-tissue dissection. The toothed jaw pattern offers firm purchase for temporary holding, specimen manipulation, and exposure. Because the jaws are traumatic by design, these forceps should not be used on friable or delicate structures where atraumatic handling is required.

Design & Configuration

The short, interlocking toothed jaws deliver focused clamping force to maintain secure traction without continuous manual pressure. The 10x11T tooth configuration increases bite stability on dense tissue, while the ratcheting lock permits hands‑free retention at a controlled grip force. The box‑lock hinge provides axial stability under load, and the overall 15.5 cm length balances reach and tactile control for shallow-to-moderate depth work.
