Clinical Application

This gouge is intended for precise removal and sculpting of cortical and cancellous bone. The 4 mm blade width provides a narrow profile for fine contouring, osteophyte removal, finishing bone edges, or creating small cortical windows. The 18 cm overall length offers reach into deeper or confined operative sites encountered in orthopedic, hand, foot, spine and ENT procedures. The instrument may be used with controlled hand pressure and, when appropriate, light mallet taps for controlled bone excavation.
