Clinical Application
Designed for uterine aspiration procedures, this cannula is used to evacuate uterine contents during surgical abortion, management of incomplete or missed abortion, and certain gynecologic evacuation procedures. The 10 mm diameter provides an orifice size intended for higher flow when compared with smaller cannula sizes and is typically selected based on uterine size and procedural requirements. The instrument interfaces with standard suction tubing and suction sources to provide controlled aspiration of tissue and fluids.
Design & Configuration
The Fig.6 pattern denotes a standard clinical configuration optimized for atraumatic access to the uterine cavity. A rigid, smooth-bore lumen maximizes suction efficiency and reduces the risk of clogging while a rounded, atraumatic distal profile minimizes endometrial trauma during insertion and manipulation. The 10 mm bore increases volumetric flow, which can improve evacuation efficiency in appropriate cases; however, clinicians should select cannula diameter according to gestational age and clinical objectives.
