Clinical Application
This replacement blade is intended for use with the O'Sullivan-O'Connor V/R Fig.1 retractor system to provide sustained exposure of the abdominal or pelvic cavity during open procedures. It enables surgeons and OR teams to maintain consistent wound edge retraction for procedures such as laparotomy, gynecologic and urologic surgery, colorectal access and other intra-abdominal operations where a frame-mounted, broad-surface retractor blade is preferred. Having spare blades on hand allows teams to tailor exposure depth and contour or to replace worn or damaged blades without removing the retractor frame.
Design & Configuration
The blade-only configuration is intended to attach directly to the O'Sullivan-O'Connor frame, allowing quick replacement or selection of blade profiles without changing the frame assembly. The broad working surface of the blade distributes retraction force over a larger area to reduce focal pressure on tissues; contoured geometry conforms to the abdominal wall to improve exposure while minimizing tissue trauma. A secure frame-mounted interface preserves tension and position throughout the case, reducing the need for manual retraction and freeing staff to manage other tasks.
Instrument Specifications
- Replacement blade compatible with O'Sullivan-O'Connor V/R Fig.1 frame
- Blade-only configuration for use as a replaceable component
- Intended for sustained abdominal/pelvic wall retraction in open surgery
- Constructed of surgical-grade stainless steel and designed for repeated sterilization
- Reusable
Material & Construction
The blade is manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel chosen for corrosion resistance and durability under repeated cleaning and steam sterilization cycles. The material and finish are selected to provide a smooth tissue-contact surface that resists pitting and preserves structural integrity over multiple uses. The component is engineered as a serviceable part to extend the working life of the retractor system.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
