Clinical Application
Designed for gynecologic curettage and tissue retrieval, this spoon-shaped curette is used for endometrial sampling, dilation and curettage (D&C) procedures, removal of retained products of conception, and targeted evacuation of intrauterine tissue. Its length and tip geometry support use in both operating room and ambulatory/office settings where controlled scraping or scooping of the endometrium is required.
Design & Configuration
The instrument’s 27 cm shaft provides extended reach for effective access to the uterine cavity while maintaining tactile feedback at the tip for controlled tissue acquisition. The single-ended, spoon-shaped tip concentrates scraping force around a smooth rim so tissue can be removed in measured increments; this profile is useful when the surgeon requires a balance of atraumatic contact and effective tissue removal. The straight shaft orientation facilitates direct alignment with the uterine axis during manual curettage.
