Clinical Application
Used for external pelvimetry to quantify pelvic dimensions important to obstetric assessment and preoperative planning. The instrument enables measurement of external landmarks such as interspinous and other transverse distances, pelvic inlet and outlet spans, and other linear pelvic measurements that inform mode-of-delivery decisions, labor management planning, and surgical access considerations.
Design & Configuration
The caliper-style geometry with two opposing arms provides direct, repeatable linear measurements. A 33 cm maximum span accommodates a wide range of pelvic dimensions and body habitus. Sliding arms with a locking mechanism permit measurement capture and transfer without loss of position. Rounded contact ends protect soft tissue and allow consistent placement against bony landmarks for improved reproducibility.
