Clinical Application

This Spackmann-style uterine cannula provides controlled access to the uterine cavity for gynecologic procedures that require aspiration, irrigation, instillation or sampling. It is suitable for use during dilation and curettage (D&C), uterine evacuation and other procedures where a rigid, hollow cannula is needed to transfer fluids or connect to suction equipment. The instrument enables atraumatic passage into the cervical canal and uterine cavity while maintaining a direct lumen for evacuation or delivery of fluids.

Design & Configuration

The rigid, straight shaft provides tactile feedback and resistance to deformation during passage through the cervical canal. The 35 cm overall length allows the user to maintain a working distance from external suction or irrigation apparatus while accommodating a variety of procedural set-ups. The rubber cone hub creates an airtight, tapered seal with tubing or syringe connectors to preserve suction integrity and reduce the risk of leaks. A smooth, rounded distal tip reduces endometrial surface trauma on insertion and withdrawal.
