Clinical Application
This aspirating curette is intended for obtaining targeted endocervical and endometrial biopsy specimens in outpatient and operative gynecologic procedures. The small 2 mm diameter working tip is suited for focal sampling of the endocervical canal and uterine cavity where a narrow, controlled sampling instrument is preferred. The aspirating configuration permits simultaneous suction-assisted collection of tissue, reducing specimen fragmentation and facilitating uptake into a collection system for pathology.
Design & Configuration
The instrument uses a hollow, tubular curette tip configured for aspiration through the body of the instrument. The 23 cm overall length provides reach through the vagina and cervical canal to the uterine cavity in standard clinical approaches. The narrow 2 mm diameter tip supports targeted sampling with minimal tissue disruption compared with larger curettes, while the aspirating channel enables continual removal of blood and loose debris during sampling, improving visualization and specimen retrieval in office-based and ambulatory settings.
