Clinical Application
Designed for controlled blunt curettage and soft-tissue removal, this loop-style instrument is used where a smooth, atraumatic scraping action is required. Common applications include endometrial or endocervical sampling and blunt removal of granulation tissue or debris in gynecologic and minor procedure settings. The blunt loop tip reduces the risk of focal perforation while allowing the operator to obtain tissue or clear cavities under direct visualization or tactile feedback.
Design & Configuration
The loop geometry provides a scooping action that distributes contact pressure across a rounded edge, minimizing tissue trauma compared with sharp curettes. A long 25 cm handle offers additional reach and control in deeper cavities or when working through specula and access ports. The blunt loop (Fig.2 pattern) is optimized for gentle debridement and sampling rather than sharp excision.
