Clinical Application

Designed for gynecologic tissue sampling and curettage, this malleable Sims curette is used to remove or sample endometrial and endocervical tissue during diagnostic procedures and therapeutic dilatation and curettage (D&C). The blunt tip facilitates atraumatic engagement of tissue while reducing the risk of perforation, making it appropriate for both office-based endometrial biopsy and operating-room procedures where controlled scraping or tissue collection is required.

Design & Configuration

The malleable shaft allows the surgeon to contour the instrument to the patient’s uterine axis and to adapt reach and angle intraoperatively for improved access and visualization. The 25 cm length provides sufficient working reach for a variety of patient anatomies. A blunt curette tip is selected to capture soft tissue while minimizing sharp-edge trauma to the endometrium and uterine wall. The simple, single-piece geometry supports tactile feedback during scraping and controlled tissue removal.
