Clinical Application

This instrument is intended for transcervical uterine curettage procedures where controlled scraping or tissue sampling of the endometrium is required. Common uses include diagnostic and therapeutic dilation and curettage (D&C), removal of retained products of conception, endometrial biopsy or sampling, and preparation of the uterine cavity prior to other interventions. The 28 cm working length provides adequate reach through the cervix and into the uterine cavity for use in operating rooms, procedure suites, and ambulatory surgery centers.

Design & Configuration

The long, rigid shaft and single‑ended configuration permit direct tactile feedback and controlled manipulation within the uterine cavity. The Fig.5 curette tip geometry provides a defined scraping surface for tissue removal and sampling while allowing the operator to apply measured scraping motions. The elongated handle and shaft geometry are selected to facilitate access through occulters, specula, or dilated cervices without compromising control.
