Clinical Application
Designed for gynecologic procedures that require mechanical scraping or sampling of the uterine lining, this curette is routinely used in dilation and curettage (D&C), targeted endometrial sampling, and removal of retained products of conception. The spoon-shaped head permits controlled tissue removal and specimen collection for histopathology. It is used alongside standard uterine instruments such as specula and tenacula and may be used in both elective and diagnostic settings.
Design & Configuration
The elongated 27 cm length provides reach and working length for clinicians during intrauterine procedures while maintaining tactile feedback at the tip. The Olshausen-style spoon head offers a concave scraping surface that facilitates controlled removal of endometrial tissue and collection of specimens with minimal snagging. A single-ended configuration simplifies handling and orientation during sequential sampling steps.
